My Hot Key Does Nothing
Check these first:
- EZ Macros is hidden to the tray with
Activate Hot Keys and Hide - the tray icon is green, not red
- the macro is enabled
- the hot key is not already in use somewhere else
If the macro is program-specific, make sure the target window title still matches.
My Type-A-Macro Trigger Fires Too Often
Use a less common key sequence. Avoid common endings like ing or short words that appear in normal typing.
My Wait-for-a-Window Macro Never Runs
Make sure:
- the macro is enabled
- the target window really becomes the foreground window
- the title text you entered still appears in the live title bar
Partial titles are allowed, but the text still has to be present.
I Cannot Edit or Delete a Secure Macro
That is expected when secure view is off.
Use Options > View Secure Macros and complete the password flow first.
I Forgot to Set a Secure Password
Open File > Preferences > Program and set it there. If you turn on View Secure Macros before a password exists, EZ Macros warns you and lets you choose whether to continue.
Scheduling Does Not Work
Scheduling depends on the EZ Scheduler companion app. If it is not installed or not registered, the schedule workflow cannot finish.
Email Macros Fail
Check the Program tab in Preferences and confirm:
- incoming server
- outgoing server
- ports
- SSL choices
- user ID
- password
EZ Macros warns you if the email server is blank.
Import Changed My Hot Keys
That usually means one or more imported hot keys were no longer available. EZ Macros asks for replacements during the import path.
Export to EXE Is Missing
Some builds hide that menu item even though export code still exists. If the command is not visible in your build, that is usually a build-configuration issue, not a damaged macro file.
Live Update Does Nothing
The update command depends on liveupdate.dll. If that file is missing or the update target is unavailable, the update flow cannot complete.
I Need to Stop a Macro Right Now
Press Pause unless you changed the stop key in Preferences.
