EZ Macros User Manual

Menus and Toolbar

Reference for the main menus, context menu, and quick actions.

EZ Macros exposes most actions from the main buttons, the menu bar, and the right-click menus.

File Menu

  • New: starts a new macro file
  • Open: opens an existing macro file
  • Save: saves the current file
  • Save As: saves the current file under a new name
  • Print: prints the macro list
  • Import: imports macros from another macro file
  • Preferences: opens the settings tabs
  • Exit: closes the app

Macro Menu

  • Run: runs the selected macro
  • Add: creates a new macro
  • Edit: edits the selected macro
  • Delete: removes the selected macro
  • Create Desktop Shortcut: builds a shortcut that runs one macro from one file
  • Export to .EXE: exports the selected macro as a self-running EXE in builds where the option is visible
  • Copy: copies the selected macro

Options Menu

  • Auto Start and Hide: tells Windows to start EZ Macros automatically and hide it to the tray
  • View Secure Macros: reveals secure macros after password handling
  • Change Skin: build-dependent option that appears only in some builds

Help Menu

  • How to Use EZ Macros: opens the vendor help URL
  • Live Update: starts the update flow if the update DLL is present
  • Order Online: opens the order flow
  • Visit American Systems on the Web: opens the vendor website
  • About: opens the About box

Right-Click Menu on the Macro List

The macro-list context menu gives you fast access to:

  • Run
  • Create Desktop Shortcut
  • Add
  • Edit
  • Delete
  • Enable/Disable
  • Activate Hot Key Mode
  • Export to .EXE
  • Copy
  • Help
  • Live Update
  • Visit American Systems on the Web
  • Exit

Tray Menu

The tray menu is meant for fast control when the main window is hidden.

  • Restore
  • Quick Record
  • Disable all macros or Enable all macros
  • Help
  • Visit American Systems on the Web
  • Close

Build Notes

  • Export to .EXE is implemented in current code, but some builds hide it from the main menu.
  • Change Skin is also build-dependent.

If a command described here does not appear in your build, that usually means the build configuration hides it rather than the help being out of date.
