EZ Macros User Manual

Running and Scheduling

Run macros now, hide EZ Macros to the tray, and use the scheduler integration.

Run a Macro Now

Select a macro and use one of these:

  • the Run button
  • Macro > Run
  • the right-click Run command

Turn Hot Keys On and Hide the Window

Use Activate Hot Keys and Hide when you want to leave EZ Macros running in the tray.

What it does:

  • hides or minimizes the main window
  • opens the hotkeys for playback use
  • switches the tray icon to the active green state

Restore the Window

Use the tray icon to bring the main window back.

  • left click restores it
  • the tray menu also has Restore

When restored, the tray icon goes back to red.

Disable Macros

You can disable one macro from the main window, or disable all macros from the tray menu.

When all macros are disabled and the hotkeys are still open, the tray icon changes to yellow.

Quick Record

The tray menu has Quick Record.

That command restores the main window and starts the add flow right away.

Schedule a Macro

Select a macro and click Schedule.

The schedule dialog gives you three choices:

  • Schedule this Macro
  • Edit the Schedule for this Macro
  • Delete the Schedule for this Macro

Scheduler Requirement

Scheduling depends on the EZ Scheduler companion app. EZ Macros talks to it through COM automation.

If the scheduler is missing, EZ Macros cannot finish the schedule workflow.

Auto Start and Hide

Use Options > Auto Start and Hide to tell Windows to start EZ Macros automatically.

The app writes this startup setting through a Windows Run entry and uses StartupMgr.exe when it builds the command line.

Stop Playback

The default stop key is Pause.

You can change it in File > Preferences > Program.
