Image, Print, And Saved Settings

Review image options, print options, ribbon choices, and settings the app remembers for future work.

This page explains the image, printing, and remembered settings in Print Screen Deluxe.

Use it when you want to change how new captures look, how printed pages come out, or what the app remembers between sessions.

Options Dialog: Image Tab

Open Options from the left side of the main window.

Setting What it does Good to know
Automatically convert to Gray Scale Changes new captures to gray scale. Off by default.
Automatically invert colors Inverts the colors in new captures. Off by default.

Options Dialog: Printing Tab

Setting What it does Good to know
Include current date and time Adds the current date and time to printed output. Off by default.
Include file name Adds the file name to printed output. Off by default.
Include current user name Adds the Windows user name to printed output. Off by default.
Auto-lighten printout Tries to make dark images easier to print. Off by default.
Print scale (%) Changes the print size. Default is 100. Range is 10 to 400.
Image position Picks where the image sits on the page. Default is Top Left.
Orientation Picks portrait or landscape. Default is Portrait.
Printer font Picks the font used for printed text details. Default is Segoe UI.
Font size Picks the size of printed text details. Default is 10. Range is 6 to 72.

Ribbon Preferences While You Edit

These settings are saved when you change them while working on an image.

Setting Where it lives What it does
Thumbnails File tab > Review Shows or hides the session thumbnail strip.
Annotation color Edit Image tab > Annotate Sets the color for new markup and selected markup.
Annotation font Edit Image tab > Annotate Sets the font, size, bold, and italic style for text markup.

Preferences The App Remembers For You

You do not need to set these every time. The app remembers them automatically.

Saved item What it remembers
Main window position The last place of the main window on the screen.
Main window size The last width, height, and window state.
Quick Capture button position The last place of the floating Quick Capture button.
Recent files The file list shown in File > Recent.

Good Starting Choices

For Printing

  • Pick the right Orientation.
  • Keep Print scale (%) near 100 to start.
  • Turn on Include file name or Include current date and time if the printout needs labels.
