Licensing, Trial, And Buying

Learn how the trial works, how buying works, and how to activate or fix a license problem.

This page explains the trial, how buying works, and how to activate a license.

The Trial

Print Screen Deluxe has a 30-day trial.

During the active trial:

  • you can keep using the app
  • the full feature set is available
  • Get Text and video recording are available

What Happens At Startup

If the app is not licensed, it shows the trial window at startup.

That window tells you:

  • how many days are left
  • whether you are using a website install or Microsoft Store install
  • what to do next

Trial Window Buttons

Buy Full Version Or Buy In Microsoft Store

The main buy button changes with the installer type.

  • Website install: Buy Full Version
  • Microsoft Store install: Buy in Microsoft Store

Refresh License

Use Refresh License after you finish buying.

This tells the app to check again for a new license.

Activate

Website installs can show an Activate area.

Use it when you already have a license key from your order email.

The key format looks like this:

ASYS-PSD-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

Continue Trial Or Exit

  • If the trial is still active, the button says Continue Trial.
  • If the trial has expired, the button says Exit.

Website Install Buying Flow

If you use the website-installed version:

  1. Click Buy Full Version.
  2. The app opens the Americansys order page in your browser.
  3. Complete the order there.
  4. Return to the app.
  5. Click Refresh License if needed.

If automatic activation does not finish, use the license key from your order email in the Activate box.

Microsoft Store Buying Flow

If you use the Microsoft Store version:

  1. Click Buy in Microsoft Store.
  2. Finish the purchase in Microsoft Store.
  3. Return to the app.
  4. Click Refresh License if needed.

Automatic Activation

Website installs can use an automatic activation flow after checkout.

The browser can send the result back to the app. If that works, the app can activate without making you type the key by hand.

If that does not happen, manual activation with the order email key still works.

Buy Now Inside The Ribbon

When the app is in unlicensed trial mode, Buy Now also appears in:

  • File > Workflow
  • Edit Image > Workflow

These buttons open the same trial or purchase flow.

After the app becomes licensed, the ribbon buy buttons go away.

If The Trial Has Expired

When the trial ends:

  • you cannot keep using the app by pressing continue
  • the trial window changes the action to Exit
  • you must buy the full version or activate a valid key

License Key Tips

  • Copy the key from the order email carefully.
  • Keep the dashes in place.
  • If the app says the key was not accepted, check the format and try again.

Trial Storage Note

The app stores trial state securely in more than one local place.

Removing one local file does not restart the 30-day trial.

Common Questions

Do I lose features during the active trial?

No. The active trial lets you use the full app.

What if checkout opened but the app did not activate?

Use Refresh License. If that still does not work, activate with the license key from your order email.

Can I buy from the ribbon?

Yes. Buy Now appears in the ribbon while the app is running in unlicensed trial mode.
